OVERSEAS MINISTRY
February 2009 saw the launch of a fundraising mission to aid orphans at “The
Tomorrows People’s Care Centre” in Malawi, in an area called Thyolo (pronounced
Cholo)
Pastor Howard Davenport and Jonathan Hughes visited Malawi and the Orphanage
in 2008 and on their return sparked an immediate desire in Margaret Randall and
her colleagues to focus their fund raising ministry there.
With approximately 150 Children needing care, the orphanage can struggle at times
and needs outside assistance. Malawi being one of the poorest countries in the
world can often rely on aid especially at times of drought.
80 percent of the children looked after have lost one or both parents and the
others come for day care while parents work.
Margaret and her team are currently aiming to raise enough money for a plot of
land adjacent to the orphanage for a store room, playroom and primary school.
They have a wide range of fundraising activities planned throughout 2009.
